These are the definition of stupidity
I’m in New Orleans for work, which is great. My rental car is a Camaro SS Coupe, which is amazing except for the stupid video rear view mirror.

Well... what's wrong with it?
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

Seems like a decent idea to me. As long as there’s a good way to keep the camera lens clean

Seems like a really terrible idea. I mean, who builds a city below sea level right next to the sea?!
And what’s the deal with the ghosting on the right side of the mirror video feed?

Never used one before. Took me a second before I could start to imagine what could be so terrible about them... Lemme guess- there’s no adjustment, is there?
Not only can you not change the viewing angle by simply reaching to twist the mirror by hand, but you also can’t change the view by moving your head either.
Is there more to it than that? Because damn, just those limitations are enough to make me hate it .

Without it, isn’t rear visibility non-existent? Also, can you turn it off and just use the regular mirror?

If ever there was a car that needed it, the Camaro is probably it.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, does this meet the backup camera law requirement? I mean, it is a camera, right? :p
For the cheaper cars that don’t have the screen and shit

It still reflects my face, so whenever my eyes look at it they re-adjust to view the video. So an extra second is lost for no reason!

It is way less safe than a normal mirror which is instant.
Cross your eyes. Then uncross them. The process of uncrossing is similar to ever time you look at this mirror

Shouldn’t it be angled to reflect whats in the mail slot rear window?

Oh so it does do both! Ok.
I think I understand what you mean about having to refocus your eyes... that’s gotta be a little disorienting.

You can’t change the angle so it doesn’t reflect your face?

I’ve driven a few cars with them, thought it was actually really nice. Being able to see without the interior of the car in the view was pretty nice.
